Temporary Accommodation Move-On Officer - Surrey

£35 per hour | Initial 3-Month Contract | 2 Days per Week On-Site

Park Avenue Recruitment are working with a Local Authority in Surrey who are looking for an experienced Temporary Accommodation Move-On Officer to join their team.

The main priority of this role is to help move households out of Temporary Accommodation, with a strong focus on discharge of homelessness duty and progressing cases to a suitable and sustainable outcome.

Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing a caseload of households in Temporary Accommodation and actively progressing cases towards move-on.

This will include:

  • Progressing cases towards discharge of duty.
  • Identifying suitable move-on options, including private rented accommodation.
  • Ensuring offers and discharges are completed correctly and in line with homelessness legislation.
  • Supporting households through the move-on process.
  • Liaising with landlords, housing providers, internal teams and external agencies.
  • Reducing prolonged stays in Temporary Accommodation.
  • Keeping case notes and actions fully updated on Jigsaw.

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone with previous Local Authority homelessness, Housing Options or Temporary Accommodation experience who is confident managing cases independently.

You will need a good understanding of discharge of duty, homelessness legislation and move-on pathways, alongside experience using Jigsaw.

This is an initial 3-month contract, paying £35 per hour, with 2 days per week required in the office in Surrey.
