Our process
From the job search to placement and beyond, we consult with you to arm you with the knowledge you need to contract successfully with local authorities and HAs.

What are you looking for?
Our kick off call will be a deep dive into your experiences, strengths and personal circumstances, so we can find you a role that not only suits your skillset but your life. We’ll work with you to build on your CV and advise you on how best to present yourself at interviews for contract positions.
-
Who can we connect you with?

Our network spans the country, and we’ll speak with our contacts about you and what you can offer to their team, connecting you with opportunities beyond which you would find on a job site.
-
Getting you the best deal
Once we’ve found you some options, your consultant will negotiate your working arrangements, pay, and advise you on the ins and outs of contracting.
-
We're in it for the long term
Our support doesn’t end once you’ve started your new position. We want to build a relationship with you for your career, not just your placement, and we’ll keep you abreast of industry happenings and other roles to keep you employed in a contract that continues to work for you, for years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions
For every contractor we work with, there is a standard list of compliance that we must collect:
- Valid passport (or birth certificate, permanent residence card, biometric immigration document, etc.)
- Proof of address (must be dated within the last 3 months of sending)
- Proof of National Insurance number (e.g. NI card, HMRC letter, P45/P60)
- 3 years of references (must be at least 2 references that include the most recent employer)
All of this is collected and securely stored on Rocket Recruitment when we begin working with you. We must ensure our contractors are eligible to work in the UK and have the correct and up-to-date documentation before the placement stage.
Depending on the council, some placements may require additional forms, more documents or more references. In this case, our Compliance team, Daisy and Olivia, will be in contact to collect what is needed. They can be reached at compliance@park-avenue.co.uk and are happy to answer any further queries you may have.
You will need to submit your timesheet on a weekly basis.
Once you submit your timesheet, your manager will receive a notification to approve your hours. If your hours are approved by 12 noon on the Tuesday, you will be paid that Friday. If your hours are approved after this deadline, you will be paid the following Friday.
The link to our timesheet portal is: https://parkavenue.evertime.co.uk/
You will receive your login details once your contract is confirmed, and you have provided us with all necessary compliance documents.
Some clients use external portals and require you to submit your timesheets on these rather than our own portal, your consultant will let you know if this is the case.
Umbrella companies are payroll companies, who will be responsible for paying you PAYE for the duration of your contract and deducting relevant taxes.
We work with a number of suppliers and can recommend companies who we have worked with regularly and are compliant. It is not a necessity to work with an umbrella company we recommend, however we will do our own due diligence on the umbrella company you do choose to ensure that your money will be safe and they will make all of the necessary deductions.
Your consultant may ask to audit one of your first payslips for this reason. We have a responsibility to protect you and ourselves from fraudulent activity.
In order to legally pay you through your own LTD company, we must have confirmation from the client that they have assessed the role and deemed it to be outside IR35 in line with government guidelines.

We'll be able to guide you through the main things you need to know during your introductory call with us. It's handy for you to have reviewed your CV and sent this to us, so we can talk through your experience to date and advise you on roles we think are best suited to your experience and discuss timeframes of your availability and your notice period.
When you work on a contract basis, you will be paid weekly, on an hourly or daily rate. The rate we quote to you unless specified otherwise is your LTD rate; this means your gross pay before taxes are deducted. You will also need to account for costs such as income tax, National Insurance, and employer's national insurance. We can talk you through how this works and put you in touch with payroll companies who can provide an illustration.
