Interim Building & Fire Safety Manager

Location: Essex (2 Days Per Week in Office)
Rate: £600 per day (Umbrella)
Contract: 6-Month Rolling Contract

We are supporting a Local Authority in Essex with the appointment of an experienced Building & Fire Safety Manager to lead on building safety compliance across its residential portfolio.

This is a key role responsible for ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and associated legislation, while supporting the Council's Accountable Persons and Principal Accountable Person in meeting their statutory obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all building and fire safety legislation, regulations and best practice guidance.
• Lead the development and implementation of a Building Safety Management System.
• Develop and maintain building safety policies, procedures, management plans and governance frameworks.
• Provide expert advice and support to Accountable Persons and the Principal Accountable Person.
• Lead the preparation and maintenance of Building Safety Case Reports and supporting evidence for higher-risk buildings.
• Ensure Fire Risk Assessments are completed, reviewed and effectively managed.
• Monitor and drive completion of fire safety and building safety remedial actions.
• Establish compliance monitoring systems, performance reporting and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Support the development and implementation of Resident Engagement Strategies.
• Manage building and fire safety complaints, ensuring appropriate investigation and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate, auditable and compliant building information records.
