Head of Pensions, Capital and Investments
Park Avenue have partnered with a London Borough in searching for an interim Head of Pensions, Capital and Investments to join them on an initial six-month basis.
The Finance Directorate of said authority is going through major changes to their staffing arrangement with several members of the team who have provided decades of service set to retire or move onto pastures new.
This in turn is causing a restructure within the team under which Pension, Treasury and Capital Accounting will fall under the same Head of Finance who will on turn report into the Deputy Section 151 Officer.
The successful officer will be responsible for two Capital Accountants, a Pension Fund Accountant, a Treasury Accountant and a Trainee.
Key responsibilities...
- Being the Senior LGPS officer for the authority overseeing their £1bn + pension fand £230m treasury portfolio.
- Attendance of the London CIV committee meetings representing the council's investment fund interests.
- Overseeing Capital Accounting including the council's £150million+ capital programme and the providing technical advise to subordinate Capital Accountants.
The ideal candidate...
- Would have significant experience within Local Government finance covering Pensions and Capital (forward planning and technical).
- Commuting distance to a London Borough at least once a week.
- Management experience of multiple staff members previously.
