Ready for your next interim opportunity within Housing Options?
A local authority in Lincolnshire is looking to appoint an interim Housing Prevention Officer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract.
This role would suit someone who is confident working proactively with households at risk of homelessness and identifying realistic solutions to help prevent homelessness wherever possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of households threatened with homelessness, with a strong focus on prevention
- Carrying out detailed assessments to understand the cause of the housing issue and identify appropriate options
- Producing and progressing Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs)
- Negotiating with landlords, letting agents, family members and other parties to help sustain existing accommodation
- Exploring alternative housing options, including the private rented sector, where remaining in the current accommodation isn't possible
- Completing duty cover 2 days per week in the office, dealing with customers approaching the service for housing advice and assistance
What you'll need:
- Recent experience working within Housing Options/Homelessness for a UK local authority
- Strong knowledge of homelessness prevention and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
- Confident communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to attend the office 2 days per week for duty
