A London borough is seeking an experienced Housing Options Officer to join their team on a interim basis for a minimum of 3 months, with the possibility of extension.
You will be responsible for carrying out statutory homelessness duties, managing a varied caseload, and providing practical housing advice to residents facing homelessness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing a caseload of homelessness cases from first contact through to final decision
- Undertaking detailed assessments in line with Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
- Issuing formal decisions, including Section 184 notifications
- Creating and progressing Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs), focusing on prevention and relief outcomes
What you'll need:
- Recent experience in a Housing Options role within a UK local authority
- Ability to work on a hybrid basis, attending the office twice a week
