A local authority in Bedfordshire is looking to appoint an experienced Housing Options Officer to support their busy Prevention & Relief service on an initial 3-month contract.
This role would suit someone comfortable managing homelessness applications from first approach through to decision, whilst working proactively to prevent homelessness wherever possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of Prevention and Relief duties
- Conducting homelessness assessments and investigations
- Producing and progressing Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs)
- Issuing statutory decisions, including Section 184 notifications
- Working with applicants, landlords and partner agencies to prevent homelessness
What you'll need:
- Recent Housing Options experience within a UK local authority
- Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation
- Ability to attend the office 3 days per week
