Rate: £400 per day
Contract: 3-Month Rolling Contract
Office Attendance: Minimum 1 day per week
A Local Authority in Cumbria is seeking an experienced Interim Estates & Disposals Surveyor to support its Property and Estates function on a 3-month rolling contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded property professional to play a key role in managing the authority's property portfolio, leading on disposals, and supporting wider estate management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a range of property disposals from instruction through to completion.
- Undertake negotiations relating to acquisitions, disposals, leases, licences, easements, wayleaves and other property transactions.
- Provide professional estates management advice across the Council's operational and investment property portfolio.
- Conduct property appraisals and advise on the most effective use of assets.
- Prepare reports, business cases and recommendations for senior officers and elected members.
- Instruct and manage external consultants, agents and legal advisers where required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Local Authority procedures and property governance requirements.
- Support strategic asset management initiatives and property rationalisation programmes.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, tenants, occupiers, developers and external organisations.
- Assist with valuation, rent review and lease renewal matters as required.
- Maintain accurate property records and support the development of asset management plans.
MRICS/Chartered Surveyor status - preferred but is not essential.
Local Authority Experience - preferred but not essential.
