Hybrid Principal Planning Officer Opportunity in Hertfordshire paying between £60 - £65 per hour.
Rolling contract likely to last over 15 month
I am currently partnering with an Hertfordshire based Local Authority who are going through an exciting period of change and are looking for a Principal Planning officer to come and support the team on major applications.

The Role
The Responsibilities
- Lead on a caseload of major and strategic planning applications, including schemes managed through PPAs.
- Prepare and present high-quality reports to Planning Committee and senior stakeholders.
- Work closely with developers, agents and consultees to deliver positive planning outcomes.
- Provide expert planning advice on a range of residential developments, from smaller landowner sites to large-scale strategic schemes.
- Support and mentor junior members of the team while contributing to a high-performing Development Management service.
Experience Needed
- Proven experience managing major and strategic planning applications within a Local Authority Development Management team.
- Strong knowledge of planning legislation, policy and the determination of major residential and mixed-use developments
- Experience preparing Planning Committee reports, engaging with stakeholders and representing the Council at appeals where required.
- Full Uk Driving Licence
