I am currently working with a Local Authority in the Oxfordshire area, who are seeking an experienced Principal Planning Officer on an interim basis to provide immediate support to their planning service. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced planner to assist with a range of minor and major developments across the district, including the potential to support Development Consent Order (DCO) applications and help implement service improvements.
The Role:
As a Principal Planning Officer, you will:
Provide support on a variety of minor and major planning applications.
Assist with Development Consent Order (DCO) applications where required (experience desirable but not essential).
Support planning service improvements and initiatives to enhance efficiency.
Carry out site visits across the district, including urban and rural locations, and work with stakeholders to resolve development issues.
Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth delivery of planning projects.
Contract Details:
Duration: 6 months initially, with potential for extension
Rate: £55 an hour (happy to discuss salary expectations)
Hours: Full-time
Working pattern: Predominantly remote, with occasional office attendance and site visits
