I am working with a Local Authority in the Gloucestershire area who are seeking an experienced Senior / Principal Planning Officer within Development Management on a 6-month interim assignment.
The Role:
As a Senior / Principal Planning Officer, you will:
* Manage a caseload of complex planning applications within the Development Management team.
* Handle a variety of applications, including major developments, providing clear and professional recommendations.
* Attend and present reports at Planning Committee, offering expert advice to Members.
* Manage planning appeals and contribute to appeal statements where required.
* Work on pre-application enquiries and provide guidance to applicants and stakeholders.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external consultees to ensure timely and robust decision-making.
* Ensure all work is in line with current planning legislation, policy, and best practice.
Contract Details:
* Duration: 6 months initially
* Rate: DOE (Dependent on Experience) - rate to be sent over with CV
* Working pattern: Hybrid - minimum 1 day per week in the office
* Hours: Full-time
