A Hampshire-based local authority is seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Planning Officer to provide senior-level support across a portfolio of major housing and strategic development projects.
This is a key appointment for a council managing a significant planning workload, with responsibility for overseeing some of the authority's most important growth sites and helping relieve pressures within an already busy team.
The Role
You'll be providing strategic oversight on a range of major planning applications and housing allocations, taking ownership of complex projects from day one with minimal supervision.
Current projects include:
- Multiple strategic sites delivering up to 1,000 homes each
- Large-scale housing applications ranging from 20-1,000 dwellings
- Supporting the council's five-year housing land supply position
- Working closely with developers, applicants and key stakeholders
About You
The council is looking for an experienced planner who can:
- Hit the ground running immediately
- Manage complex major applications and strategic sites
- Provide senior-level advice and oversight
Contract Details
- Initial 6-month contract
- Flexible hybrid working arrangement
- Some office attendance preferred
