Principal Planning Policy Officer
I am working with the a Local Authority within their Strategic and Local Plan (SLP) team who are seeking experienced Principal Planning Officers to support the preparation of their emerging Strategic and Local Plan. This is a key opportunity to join a busy planning policy team at a crucial stage, as they move towards Regulation 19 consultation in Autumn, followed by Submission to the Secretary of State.
The Role:
As a Principal Planning Officer, you will:
- Support the preparation and progression of the Strategic and Local Plan through Regulation 19 consultation and submission stages
- Contribute to evidence base work, policy development and plan drafting
- Work closely with internal teams, stakeholders and elected members
- Assist in managing and responding to representations during consultation periods
- Provide technical planning policy input to support the wider SLP programme
- Help ensure the Local Plan progresses in line with statutory requirements and programme milestones
Contract Details:
- Duration: Minimum 6-month contract
- Start date: Ideally within 6 weeks of interview
- Requirement: Strong experience in planning policy and Local Plan preparation essential
