I'm currently working closely with a Nottinghamshire Council who are looking for an experienced Development Management Planning Officer to provide additional capacity within their Planning Service.
This is a delivery-focused role for someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership of a caseload and determine applications with minimal supervision.
Role details:
- Planning Officer - Development Management
- 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday
- Initial 3-month contract, with potential for extension
- Hybrid working, with office attendance required for site visits, meetings and other work as necessary
- Start: ASAP
- Rate: Negotiable - please let me know your expectations
- IR35: Inside
The caseload is likely to include:
- Householder and minor applications
- Rural and agricultural applications
- Small/medium-scale residential schemes, generally up to 30 dwellings
- Pre-application enquiries
- Appeals and associated casework
- Committee reports where required
They are looking for someone with:
- Recent UK Local Authority Development Management experience
- Strong application determination experience
- The ability to manage a busy caseload independently
- Excellent report-writing and decision-making skills
- Experience using Uniform / IDOX - essential
- A delivery-focused approach and the ability to work with minimal supervision
This is not a management or policy role - they specifically want an experienced Development Management planner who enjoys being hands-on and progressing applications through to determination.
