Team Leader - Development Management

West Midlands Contract £60 - £65 Per Hour

I'm partnering exclusively with a well-established medium-sized Local Authority in the Midlands, covering a diverse mix of rural and urban areas. They're looking for an experienced Development Management Team Leader to provide hands-on leadership within their busy Development Management team.

This is a well-established team that has worked together for many years, so they're looking for someone with excellent communication skills who can lead, inspire, and drive positive cultural change while supporting the team through a gradual period of improvement.

Key details:

Contract: Until March 2028 - an exceptionally long-term opportunity
Rate: Up to £65 per hour
Start: Last week in July, although they're happy to wait for the right person
Hybrid: Just 1 day per week on site

The role will involve:

Leading and supporting a Development Management team of 11 officers
Managing a small caseload alongside leadership responsibilities
Supporting officers with complex applications and high workloads
Driving positive cultural and performance improvements
Coaching, mentoring, and developing staff to strengthen technical knowledge and confidence

Interview process:

Initial Teams interview
Followed by a face-to-face meeting
