A local authority in the South East is looking to appoint a skilled Tenancy Relations Officer to join their Housing Services team on an initial 3-month contract, with a very high likelihood of extension.

This Tenancy Relations Officer role sits at the heart of tenant and landlord engagement, ensuring compliance with key legislation including the Protection from Eviction Act 1977 and the Renters' Rights Act 2025.

As a Tenancy Relations Officer, you will act as a trusted point of contact for both tenants and landlords, providing expert advice, managing complex cases, and supporting enforcement action where required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivering specialist advice on housing law, tenancy rights, and landlord responsibilities
  • Investigating cases of illegal eviction and harassment
  • Supporting enforcement and ensuring compliance with housing legislation
  • Leading on landlord and tenant engagement across the private rented sector
  • Promoting awareness of the Renters' Rights Act and preventing disputes

Requirements:

  • Experience in Tenancy Relations, Private Sector Housing, or Fraud investigations
  • Strong working knowledge of housing legislation and enforcement processes
  • PACE trained (Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984)
  • Ability to manage sensitive investigations and communicate effectively with stakeholders
