We are working with a London Borough looking for a Finance Business Partner / Finance Analyst to join their Children's Social Care directorate on an initial six-month basis.
This individual will be responsible for going to resource panel meetings and challenging spending and funding allocation on complex and high-cost child welfare cases.
Significant acumen when it comes forecasting Chidlren's Social Care spending is essential for the position.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified accountant (CCAB/CIMA or equivalent) with significant experience partnering Children's Social Care services within a local authority environment.
- Proven experience of challenging and scrutinising high-cost service areas, with the confidence and credibility to attend Resource Panel meetings and constructively challenge care package expenditure and spending decisions.
- Strong track record of supporting budget management and financial control within Children's Social Care, including managing and forecasting complex demand-led budgets.
- Demonstrable expertise in developing and maintaining robust expenditure forecasting models, particularly where dedicated forecasting tools are not available.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the use of complex formulas, pivot tables, financial modelling and data analysis to support financial planning and reporting.
