Park Avenue have partnered with an East Anglian district council with a view to finding them a Financial Planning lead to complete the MFTS for them pertaining to the 2027-28 financial year.
Directly reporting into the section 151 and being analogous in seniority to the Chief Accountant the post has no direct reports but will work closely with the Business Partnering Team and Senior Leadership team in order to develop the financial strategy and budget book.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the production of the MTFS, at the same time will conduct a full scale review of reserve levels within different directorates and will look to strengthen the Capital bidding process for 2027/28.
Candidates with Collection Fund experience will also be looked upon favourably for the role however this is not essential with the focus of the position very much being MTFS.
The ideal candidate would…
- Have extensive budgeting and MTFS experience within Local Government having ideally let the process multiple times.
- Be able to and have a demonstrable history of holding budget holders to account regarding reserve levels and general budget management.
- Be able to provide some office presence several times a month.
- Be available to start within a fortnight.
