Park Avenue have partnered with a Borough Council in the Southeast who are seeking an experienced HRA Accountant to support its Housing Finance function over an initial six-month period.
Reporting to the Head of Financial Accounting the successful candidate will be the lead business partnering for the ring fenced account and will be responsible for updating and maintaining the 30 Year Business plan as a part of this.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on HRA budget setting, monitoring and forecasting within a multi-million pound housing portfolio
- Support the development and maintenance of the HRA 30-year business plan
- Deliver robust analysis on rent setting, service charges and housing investment programmes
- Oversee year-end accounts, ensuring compliance with CIPFA and statutory reporting requirements
- Partner with housing and asset management teams to provide clear financial guidance on capital and revenue decisions
- Support MTFS development, identifying savings and efficiencies across the HRA
About You
- Proven experience working within Local Government finance, specifically HRA
- Strong technical understanding of Housing Revenue Account regulations and reporting
- Experience producing or supporting HRA business plans and long-term financial models
- Confident business partner, able to engage non-finance stakeholders
- Immediately available or available at short notice
