Private Sector Housing Officer - London Borough
£50-£60 per hour | 6-Month Contract | Hybrid Working (2/3 Days On Site)
We're working with a London Borough seeking an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to join their team on a 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a proactive and well-structured service where your enforcement expertise will make an immediate impact.
The Role
You will manage a busy and varied caseload, with a strong focus on enforcement activity, including:
- Investigating housing complaints and carrying out inspections
- Enforcing under the Housing Act 2004 and associated legislation
- Processing and enforcing HMO Licensing applications
- Issuing Civil Penalties and drafting statutory notices
- Preparing detailed case files for tribunal and court proceedings
- Advising landlords and tenants on legislative compliance
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong experience in enforcement within Private Sector Housing
- Proven expertise in HMO Licensing and Civil Penalties
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Housing Act 2004 and HHSRS
- Confidence managing complex and contentious cases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
This role offers £50-£60 per hour (dependent on experience), hybrid working with 2-3 days per week on site, and a supportive management structure.
