Repairs Planner
Contract: Temporary (Initial 3-Month Assignment)

About the Role
I am seeking an experienced Repairs Planner to join a busy repairs and maintenance team, supporting the delivery of responsive repairs services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling repairs appointments, allocating work to operatives and contractors, and ensuring repairs are completed within agreed timescales. This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate responsive repairs, maintenance works, and follow-on appointments.
- Allocate jobs to operatives and contractors to maximise productivity and efficiency.
- Manage diaries and appointments, ensuring resources are effectively utilised.
- Liaise with residents, operatives, contractors, and internal departments to coordinate repairs.
- Monitor outstanding repairs and reschedule appointments where necessary.
- Update housing management and scheduling systems accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure repairs are raised, planned, and completed in accordance with service standards and contractual requirements.
- Respond to enquiries and resolve scheduling issues promptly and professionally.
- Assist in achieving key performance indicators relating to repairs completion, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records and provide administrative support to the repairs service as required.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Repairs Planner, Scheduler, Works Planner, or Repairs Coordinator.
- Experience within a local authority, housing association, social housing provider, or repairs and maintenance environment.
- Understanding of responsive repairs and maintenance services.
- Experience scheduling operatives, contractors, or maintenance teams.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Good IT skills, including experience using repairs scheduling or housing management systems.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing demands.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working within social housing repairs and maintenance.
- Knowledge of repairs performance targets and service standards.
- Experience using systems such as DRS, Northgate, Civica, MRI, Totalmobile, or similar scheduling platforms.
- Understanding of responsive repairs, voids, disrepair, or planned maintenance services.
