We are working with a Borough Council based in the South of England in securing a Finance Business Partner for an initial six-month period.
The authority is looking for a seasoned Local Government Service Accountant to look after Housing, Community and Leisure services at the authority, extensive Local Government experience will be looked upon favourably.
They are looking to get someone started in the next fortnight.
Responsibilities include…
- Act as the lead finance contact for allocated service areas, predominantly but not limited to Housing, Communities and Leisure.
- Support budget holders with financial planning, forecasting, and monitoring.
- Lead on budget setting, month-end reporting, and medium-term financial planning.
- Analyse financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
- Support business cases, savings programmes, and transformation projects.
Your background…
- CIMA or ACCA qualified accountant with extensive experience within Local Government Service Accountancy.
- Ability to provide a weekly office presence in the home counties.
- Previous experience in budget forecasting and modelling within a local government setting.
