We're working closely with a fast-paced local authority planning team that is looking for an experienced Principal Planning Officer to support its Development Management service.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work on interesting major applications but, just as importantly, wants to join a friendly and supportive team where contractors are genuinely valued and made to feel part of the service.

The Role

You'll manage a varied caseload of major planning applications, including:

• Major residential developments and other significant schemes
• Supporting the delivery of two major new neighbourhood developments
• Managing applications through the full Development Management process
• Providing planning advice on complex proposals
• Working closely with planning professionals and specialist advisors
• Liaising with developers, consultees and internal stakeholders
• Operating within a busy local authority planning team

The focus is on bringing in someone who can confidently pick up major applications, work collaboratively with the wider team and help keep key developments moving.
