Senior Planner (Development Management)

Hampshire | Up to £45 per hour | Initial 3 month rolling contract

A Local Authority in Hampshire is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Planner to provide immediate support across its Development Management team.

This is a hands-on role managing a varied caseload of planning applications, with a focus on housing schemes, alongside minor and householder applications. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, producing high-quality reports and managing applications through to determination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing a varied Development Management caseload
• Assessing housing applications, including outline, reserved matters and full applications (up to circa 60 dwellings)
• Determining minor and householder applications

About You:

• Recent Local Authority Development Management experience
• Experience of rural planning issues
• Knowledge of Nitrate Neutrality would be advantageous but is not essential

Contract Details:

• Initial 3-month rolling contract
• Up to 37 hours per week
• Up to £45 per hour (up for negotiation)
• Hybrid working with preferred candidate working 2 days per week in the office/visits
• No line management responsibilities
• Immediate or near-immediate availability preferred
