Community Engagement Officer

East of England Contract £21 - £23 Per Hour

We are working with a housing provider who is looking to recruit a Community Engagement Officer to join their Customer & Community Services team.

About the Role

As a Community Engagement Officer, you will help deliver high‑quality, resident‑focused engagement services. You'll act as a key link between the organisation, residents and local partners-ensuring people feel informed, supported and able to influence decisions that affect their homes and neighbourhoods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a main point of contact for residents and community partners
  • Support resident involvement and local engagement activities
  • Signpost households to support services
  • Help deliver digital inclusion initiatives
  • Work with community groups and resident associations
  • Collect engagement data and support neighbourhood improvement programmes
  • Attend occasional evening/weekend meetings

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with the public or community groups
  • Strong customer‑service and communication skills
  • Ability to handle challenging conversations professionally
  • Knowledge of community engagement, digital inclusion and basic H&S
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and digital systems
  • Able to work independently and manage a varied workload
  • Full driving licence, access to a car and ability to pass a DBS check
