A North London local authority is seeking an experienced Housing Needs Officer to join their team for an initial 3 month period.
You will be responsible for delivering statutory homelessness functions, managing live caseloads, and supporting residents at risk of homelessness in line with current legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a live caseload of homelessness applications from triage through to decision stage
- Carrying out assessments and investigations under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996, as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
- Making and issuing statutory decisions including s184s.
- Completing Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs) and carrying out prevention and relief work
- Attending the office a minimum of 2 days per week
What you'll need:
- Recent experience working as a Housing Options / Homelessness Officer within a UK local authority
- Experience using the system HOPE is desirable but not essential.
- Immediately available or available at short notice
