Housing Options Officer - Relief

A local authority is seeking an experienced Interim Housing Options Relief Officer to join their team on a contract basis for an initial 3 months, with strong potential to extend.
This role is ideal for an officer confident managing a relief and main duty caseload, with a strong focus on progressing cases efficiently through to duty discharge. You'll be part of a duty rota and expected to carry out face‑to‑face assessments, offering a varied and hands‑on role within the service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a Relief and Main Duty caseload, progressing cases through to discharge of duty
- Carrying out face‑to‑face homelessness assessments and participating in a duty rota
- Completing Relief duty work, including suitability assessments and temporary accommodation offers
- Issuing statutory decisions, including Section 184 notifications
- Making and managing TA offers and assessing suitability
What you'll need:
- Recent experience handling Relief and Main Duty casework within a local authority
- Ideally previous experience using Locata
- Ability to attend the office 1 day per week (up to 2 days maximum, as required)
