Park Avenue are partnering with a Borough Council based in the west of England in procuring a permanent Section 151 Officer for an initial six month basis.
The remit of the position naturally extends from overseeing the Business Partnering, Technical, Exchequer Function and the Revenue's and Benefits Functions of the Council whilst dealing with members and attending council meetings.
Reporting into the Chief Executive the successful candidate will also be tasked with overseeing a signifcant savings programme and navigating the authority's position within its respective county when it comes to LGR.

Serve as the council's statutory Section 151 Officer, ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and legislation.
Lead and develop the Finance function, fostering a culture of innovation, high performance, and continuous improvement.
Provide authoritative advice to elected members, the Chief Executive, and Corporate Leadership Team on all financial matters.
Drive the council's medium-term financial strategy, budget setting, and long-term financial planning.
Ensure robust financial controls, risk management, and value-for-money principles across the organisation.
Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies, auditors, and partner organisations.
