Senior Enforcement Officer | 6-Month Contract

An opportunity has arisen in the Surrey area for an experienced Senior Enforcement Officer to support a local authority with a specialist caseload focused on Gypsy & Traveller enforcement matters.

This is a hands-on role requiring a highly experienced officer who can operate autonomously and confidently manage complex and often sensitive cases. You will be dealing with unauthorised encampments and developments, progressing enforcement action where required, and working closely with legal services through appeal and court processes.

Key Experience Required:

Significant local authority enforcement experience
Extensive Gypsy & Traveller enforcement knowledge
Experience preparing and presenting enforcement cases
Working with legal teams on court proceedings and appeals
Knowledge of Article 4 Directions
High Court and complex enforcement experience desirable
Ability to manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervision

Contract Details:

6-month initial contract
£50 per hour
Full-time position
Around 2 days per week required for combined office attendance and site visits
