We're recruiting an experienced Building Control Manager to support a busy, high-profile Local Authority in Lancashire. This is a long-term contract within a complex, fast-moving environment, offering an excellent rate and genuine flexibility.
The Role
You'll support the Head of Building Control, providing operational leadership, technical oversight and line management for junior officers. The work covers high-risk, nationally significant sites, including high-rise (11m+) developments.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing day-to-day Building Control operations
Technical oversight of complex and high-risk sites
Ensuring compliance with current and emerging Building Regulations
Contributing to service improvement during organisational change
The Environment
This authority has a lot going on, including:
High-rise and high-density residential developments
BA Systems and Nuclear Power Plant sites
Other sites of national importance
A Building Safety report is due shortly, making experience with buildings over 11m essential.
Requirements
British citizenship (essential due to site sensitivity)
Relevant Building Control qualification
Strong senior-level Building Control experience
Working arrangements
Initially remote
Hybrid thereafter (potentially 1 day per week on site)
