We are working with a well established housing organisation in East London that is looking to appoint an experienced Building Surveyor on a 6 month contract. This is a hands on role within a busy Repairs and Property Services team, offering strong day rate and a varied workload.

The Role
Manage all surveying activity across a defined patch
Deal with complex repairs enquiries, correspondence and complaints
Carry out property surveys and diagnose defects
Prepare technical reports, specifications and scheme design drawings
Supervise contractors and coordinate multiple trades
Manage a delegated budget
Oversee works from diagnosis through to completion and payment
Scrutinise and approve variations and invoices
Ensure works are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard
Implement robust quality control including post inspections
Obtain planning and building control approvals
Undertake feasibility studies, option appraisals and budget estimates
Act as lead officer for aids and adaptations
Provide technical advice to repairs, compliance and asset teams
Represent the organisation at meetings and act as expert witness if required
