Interim Homelessness Officer - Staffordshire
A council in Staffordshire is looking to appoint an experienced Housing Options / Homelessness Officer on a three‑month interim contract, offering £30-£32 per hour (umbrella). This role focuses on delivering effective homelessness prevention and supporting vulnerable households through informed decision‑making and legislative expertise.
Role Overview
- Deliver housing options interviews and statutory duty appointments, undertaking assessments, casework, and issuing Section 184 decisions.
- Assess the housing and support needs of individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, ensuring appropriate interventions are identified.
What We're Looking For
- Proven track record of managing complex homelessness cases from initial assessment through to final decision.
- Previous experience within a local authority or housing association housing options service.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied and demanding caseload independently.
- A proactive and creative approach to homelessness prevention.
- Comprehensive knowledge of homelessness legislation and associated guidance.
Additional Details
- Hybrid working pattern, with 2-3 office‑based days per week in Staffordshire.
