I'm delighted to be supporting a Local Authority in Hertfordshire that are looking to appoint a Senior Planning Officer on10 month contract to support additional capacity in the team. This role requires a planning professional who has significant experience dealing with small scale majors, complex minor applications and complex householders. You must be able to demonstrate similar work undertaken, including understanding of Green Belt policy and to be able to work confidently independently as well as a track record of high performance and ability to adapt to different application types.
Another important note is that the successful candidate will need a driving licence and to have access to a car for site visits.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support additional capacity in the team
- Green belt policy experience
- Experience dealing with small scale majors, complex minor applications and complex householders.
- Ability to work independently
The Experience You Will Bring:
- Educated to degree level in Planning or a relevant subject
- Thorough working knowledge of practices, methodologies, and legislation within Planning
- Experienced in complex casework; able to give advice and guidance on a broad range of cases and topics
- Proven ability to enforce legislation where appropriate
- Eligibility for Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute or equivalent
Job Details:
- Rate - £40.00 - £45.00 p/h
- Working Pattern - Hybrid (1 day on site every 2 weeks)
- Contract Length - 10 months
