Senior Planning Policy Officer

A Local Authority in the Southwest is seeking an experienced Senior Planning Policy Officer to take a lead role in the development and implementation of planning policies, with a particular emphasis on minerals and waste.
In this position, the Senior Planning Policy Officer will provide expert planning advice, conduct in-depth research and data analysis, and work closely with key stakeholders, including local communities, developers, and government agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and supervise junior staff
- Oversee and manage public consultations
- Prepare reports and recommendations
- Represent the council at public inquiries and appeals
This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week, with flexible office attendance. It is offered on a 3-month contract with the potential for extension, paying up to £58 per hour INSIDE IR35.
